One Brief Moment Oh stop the world for one brief
moment
to help me find myself,
For time's fast feet helps set my pace
and blurs just what I think.
Man's main purpose here on earth
has passed too fast to grasp,
And all the pleasures I hope to gain
just somehow do not last.
Days streak by and then the months
and soon it is a year,
And days long waited just seemed to be
tomorrow's constant friend.
So let it stop and I can taste
the pleasures I have missed
For in that moment lies peace of mind
which would brighten years to come.
And in that moment I could stop
and redirect my paths;
To breath success and happiness
and see just where I am at.
I'd find God's beauties on the earth
that long before was haze.
Run up a lustrous mountainside
and drink in a glistening stream,
With all the pressures off my mind
and silence all around.
I would cherish in my soul, heart and mind
that moment, that was once a dream.

Agony
Shift in the wind,
A setback in time,
From banana-orange to lemon-lime,
From lose to find.
The gray to green of winter-spring
Has its own pain--
The April rain.
If meadow larks can whistle, I can sing.

A candle burns
With a gloriously, glowing flame
and as it burns,
the wax rolls down the candle
making myriads of shapes
like the sad tears of an ancient woman
wishing she were young.

Completion of My Eighteenth Revolution
On this day, the completion of my eighteenth revolution about
the sun, I vow to write down my thoughts and plead my case to the
coming generations of man.
On this same day, a few hours from completing my
eighteenth
revolution about the sun, I have only three wishes that I request
from my fellow kind.
The first wish that I ask for on this day, the
completion of
my eighteenth revolution about the sun is that henceforth no man
should bother me with trivial things when I'm contemplating the
void of space, time and thought.
The second wish I ask for on this day, the completion
of my
eighteenth revolution about the sun is that all men of worth and
knowledge should sit and chat with me till I learn all each has
to offer in lighting the way of my quest.
The third and last wish I ask for on this day, the
completion
of my eighteenth revolution about the sun is that all men
who can hear my voice should heed my words of counsel and warning
for I have spent my lifetime contemplating the unthoughtful, timeless,
infinity of things under the guise of one's own boundless
soul.
And so I complete my eighteenth revolution about the
sun.
